hi, I'm Marta!
I’m Marta, an Italian illustrator and concept artist, currently based in Milan, Italy. I have a background as a marine biologist and have grown up as a self-taught artist. I have a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's in marine sciences. I am currently working as a book illustrator specialized in book internal designs, influenced by everything folklore and fantasy. My art is mainly inspired by my love for nature, fantasy and sci-fi.
Besides drawing, I’m very passionate about scuba diving, biology and bunnies! When I’m not drawing for work, I go to the gym regularly, spend time with my family and my bunnies and read books.

Normally, I'm constantly fully booked for the 3/4 upcoming months. So I would recommend reaching out at least 3 months before your ideal starting date. However, I always welcome last-minute projects when possible.
-
Of course! My line art style is easily adaptable for different projects. Fantasy and gothic are probably my main specialisations, but I have also had a lot of experience in all the literary genres: from romantasy to romance, contemporary, thriller, space opera and also poetry or non-fiction bibliographies.
-
Art has always been part of my childhood, but I started digital art back in October 2023 as a self-taught artist after years in the STEM field. And I moved full-time one year later in October 2024!
-
I’m currently specialised in internal art for books and special editions, but I would love to expand my work also in other fields in the future! Comic art, branding, concept art for video games and entertainment. I’m very open to future opportunities and I’m not afraid to put my work out there!
-
I’m currently using Procreate on an iPad Pro 13 and Illustrator.
My favourite brush from Procreate is a modified 6B pencil that I designed specifically for my line art.

Absolutely!
Please send me a photo as soon as you have your tattoo done :)

Everything that goes under these: Fantasy, horror, gothic & thriller. Occasionally, I love to insert non-fiction genres on my shelf for personal development.
